About Me

I’m Michelle and dogs have been my passion for as long as I can remember!

As a child I worked in boarding kennels, volunteered at the local vet and zoo, and then studied Zoology and Behaviour at University.

After graduation I qualified as an Early Years Teacher (of humans!), and also volunteered at my local Animal Rescue at weekends and holidays and brought home a few of the dogs to join our family. One in particular had some very challenging quirks, and led me on a journey of courses, workshops, consultations and learning that started my second career as a Dog Trainer and Behaviourist.

After a period working in the Behaviour Team at a local rescue, I moved to Bristol and started Cleary Canines and Puppy School Bristol.

Now, after many years of working with dogs of all ages, I’m once again returning to Early Years, but puppies not children!

As with children, I believe learning should be fun, ideally through play, and should never involve any form of force or punishment.

We did puppy training with Michelle and had a 121 session. Michelle is down to earth, understanding, patient and very generous with her time. She also clearly has a lot of real understanding and knowledge about animal development and behaviour. Her advice was easy to follow, made sense and was presented with fun and gentleness. We all enjoyed the classes, – myself my partner and my children, even on line it worked surprisingly well! Highly recommend her and we’ll be attending her future classes too.
